Fuel Surcharges continue to wreak havoc

Fuel prices have continued to wreak havoc across the freight and transport industry, with BAF surcharges on Seafreight having risen steadily this year on all trades. Airfreight has been climbing at an unstoppable rate and now appears to have peaked (or have we spoken too soon?) Several major airlines have announced a reduction from £ 0.40 per kilo to £ 0.37 per kilo, we would expect the rest the follow suit shortly.

Surcharges on Road Transport again appear to have stabilised at an average of 6%. Again we would hope to start seeing a decline in these over the next few weeks – watch this space.

ISPM 15 WOOD PACKAGING REQUIREMENTS.

It appears that the entire planet has gone “Barking” mad over wooden packaging. Even third world countries that are rife with plant pests and other unmentionables do not want our wooden packaging.
